Goings-on...

I have been long away, but I've actually been going nowhere fast.  I hope all of you are feeling the first nudges of Spring. We are sure lapping it up with syrup and honey in Missouri.  Even I didn't want a lot more Winter chills than dear Aunt January provided. And that's saying a lot. 

Just wanted to say thank you for all the lifelines of kindness extended to me.  

I do recognize and appreciate how much everyone is pulling for me.  I just won't go into all the broken-hearted thoughts I have... you all know. 

This mysterious heart pattern appeared in my front yard the day after Valentine's Day... and a stay cat set off my Ring camera!  Evidently the mail van turned around just so...and Voilá! I'll admit it made me smile...

Now a brand new project... I just could barely force myself to roll through that hallway or open that door to what has been my son's, my mother's,  and my bedroom through the years.  The last memory was so loud of that hateful morning... so, I have decided to use the money from my son's pickup sale and do some demo... (of course, I'm not demo-ing, but you get the picture! )

Yuck! What a sight.  I'm finally redoing that 70 year old bathroom.  Now the tub is gone and the carpenter is working valiantly to fix a fuse to use his power tools... This old house! I'm waiting for an electrician still... 

I'll keep you updated on the bathroom, and just wait on the reveal of the former bedroom! We're knocking out a big hole/passageway or a whole wall, depending on structure. It's going to be a dining room.  Inspiration colors and style here:

Today I made Italian Vegetable soup and Sour Cream Cornbread. On Monday my friends came down and one taught me how to make tortillas from scratch... she left the remaining ingredients for the tortillas, so I added the rest and extra kinds of the veggies,  broth, and spices for the soup today.
