Out and About

I hired a friend of my son's to stay with Mama while I took my first two hours out for no reason since February 3rd. Weather was cool and semi-stormy, and I was home before I knew it. Happy meal at the Lake and driving my car...

These tulips sure speak my language!

A field of dandelions

And although I told her she could just sit and study for her college classes, this sweet girl swept all my floors and steamed the bathroom. Lovely...

She sounds like an angel! My dad's wonderful friends would take him out for dinner and a ride on Wednesdays for a 2-3 hours. It was wonderful. My family spoiled me. My daughter would come over and make dinner for us and I could sit in my own chair in my own house and just sit. It is little things that mean the most.

You are your mother's angel, too.

I should clarify that happened after the first stroke. After the second he had trouble swallowing which he disagreed with as well as changes in his taste buds. I unfortunately took him to a local ice cream shop for a milk shake one day. He caused such a scene about how the shake tasted that management came over to apologize. I could hardly get him out of the store since he wanted to tell each table how awful it was. After that, we had to stop the outings.

I hope you will ask that young lady to come more often. You need more breaks than once every couple months... now, just listen to me giving advice and probably unwanted at that but I've been there. My heart is in the right place for sharing that with you, I hope you took it like that.
