July 11th... Never just another day...

1949 Ice Storm.... (my dad sure talked about all the telephone line repair and work required from this one..
--------------------
I do try (believe me when I say this.) I do try to keep my blog uplifting and happy, to search for the good, to accent the funny, the amazing, the aha! moments of life... Maybe today I am not going to try... Today is the second birthday for my daddy... without him. So, no long post today... just a couple of quick shots that simply speak of him... Snippets of our celebrations, the shots of telephone lines loping across the countryside... I found this icy shot of the lines during that famous storm. I think he was a fairly new, maybe even unlocated lineman at that time... I used to watch him fly up those poles with his climbers on and then slide down, barely slowing himself with the claws on the climbers now and then to keep from the plunge's being a pure freefall... Pure freefall... that's what it has seemed like without him in my life... Pure freefall...

Happy Birthday, Daddy-O!

Gosh, I can't believe it's 2 years already. I'm ready to hop on that bus in two days myself. Trying not to be teary or weepy, but very sentimental. Especially given the awesome weekend we just had. Dad would have LOVED it so very, very much!!
